Team WhittleFit racing and training roundup - 28th, 29th & 30th May 2016

Lots of racing and training was going on this past Bank Holiday weekend! The highlights are:

  • European Sprint Triathlon Champs: Andrew Martin represented GB in Lisbon this weekend at the European Sprint Champs, where he lead the swim (in front of an ex-Olympic triathlete!) and finished 4th in his age group! Well done Andrew, truly amazing racing!
  • Brecon Sprint Triathlon: James Coxon raced the tough Brecon Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, coming 5th overall and 2nd in his age group, another excellent result from James.
  • Tour of Wessex: Jason Korinek raced the very challenging Tour of Wessex this weekend. The cycling race consists of 3 days of racing, covering well over 100 miles each day. Jason had an excellent weekend coming in the top 30 (over 700 started the race), well done Jason!
  • Cotswolds 113 race recce: yesterday a group of coached WhittleFit athletes headed over to the Cotswolds Waterpark to do a bike and run recce in preparation for the upcoming Cotswolds 113 Triathlon (half iron distance race). The recce provided us with the opportunity to become familiar with the course itself and practise pacing, equipment & nutrition ahead of the upcoming race. Practise and preparation means we should have no surprises come race morning!

There's so many races on next weekend, including Ironman France, Marlow Triathlon, Blenheim Sprint Triathlon, Bristol Triathlon, Bala Middle Distance Triathlon and Swansea Sprint Triathlon, watch this space for updates!!!
