Team WhittleFit racing roundup - 26th & 27th August 2017
This weekend we had a few WhittleFit coached athletes and friends of WhittleFit racing, from Canada to France and Austria! Lets check out how they got on:
- Ironman Vichy 70.3: Luke England raced Ironman Vichy 70.3 on Saturday with the goal of setting a PB and getting as close to 4hr45 as possible. Luke raced really well on a hot day and came home in a time of 4:45:09; well done Luke!
- Ironman Vichy: coached athlete Darren Goswell and friend of WhittleFit Darryl Sleath raced the full distance at Ironman Vichy yesterday, with Darren (coached by coach Lawrence) looking for a PB and Darryl making his Ironman debut. On what proved to be another hot day (like the day before for the 70.3 race) both Darren and Darryl did extremely well with Darren coming home in a time of 10hr26 and Darryl in a time of 14:47; well done guys!
- ITU Multisport Long Distance World Championships: Due to circumstances outside the control of coach Lawrence, he was unable to race the World Championship race yesterday, so raced the open race instead. Lawrence had a superb race and finished 2nd overall! Great racing coach!
- Ironman Zell am See 70.3: Martyn Lewis and friend of WhittleFit Paul Newman both raced the stunning course at Zell am See, Austria yesterday and both raced very well. Martyn (coached by coach Lawrence) came home in a time of 6hr14 and Paul came home in a time of 6hr07, well done both, enjoy the rest of your stay in Austria!
