This weekend we had quite a few WhittleFit athletes getting in some early season racing, lets find out who did what:

  • Pembrey off-road duathlon: The Pembrey off-road duathlon this year doubled as the Welsh off-road duathlon champs and Jason Brown, James Coxon, Tom Nesham and many friends of WhittleFit dug out their off-road trainers and mountain bikes to try their hand on the tricky Pembrey course. This early season race certainly blew out the cobwebs with everyone racing hard from the gun! Jason Brown raced very well in the standard race especially considering a slight delay in the woods on the bike, with Tom Nesham and James Coxon coming home in 1st and 2nd pace in the Sprint race. Well done guys, a great start to the season!
  • Goring 10km: GB age grouper Stuart Fraser raced the Goring 10K yesterday on what proved to be a hilly (and windy) course. Stuart had a good start to the season coming 36th out of 1000 starters in a time 40min16, well done Stuart, coach Chris will be very pleased with that!
  • Welsh cross country champs: Tom Foster raced at Singleton Park, Swansea in the Welsh cross country champs on Saturday. Very muddy conditions underfoot made for a tough race; Tom raced well against a very deep field, which will stand him in good stead for his early season A race, the London Marathon in April, well done Tom!

Well done everyone who raced this weekend!
